THANKS FOR MAKING EMPTY BOWLS A SUCCESS!

The fifth Empty Bowls event, held on March 11th at the Masonic Temple, sold out in advance and attracted 800 participants!

Christ Brothers Students displaying their bowls.

"Sarah" sent this note to the students at Christian Brothers High School, one of 16 schools that donated bowls: "When I look upon the bowl my daughter brought home for me last year, I was without a permanent job at the time. That bowl became a reminder of how God has provided for me in so many ways and though I may not have had a permanent job from time to time, I have never gone hungry. Those thoughts always give me pause when I look at that bowl. This year, I selected E.V.'s bowl, which has a "spring theme" to it, with flowers and a butterfly flitting about in a spiral motion . . .It is a happy theme, very much like a bowl should be, that for me symbolizes the change in my life . . . I now have a wonderful permanent job and a brighter future ahead . . . symbolized in the character and spirit of the bowl I chose this year."

Many thanks to those who made this year such a success, including…
