Emergency Food and Shelter Assistance Programs
October, 2004
In this season of Thanksgiving, all of us at RCCS thank the many
individuals and agencies that support us and help us work our
mission. Each month we are indebted to Senior Gleaners, Food Link,
and the numerous churches that support us through cash and food
donations.
To maintain the quality of our work, especially at this high
time of need, our circle must widen. We are very grateful to the
new faces that have come to us with their support and "trunks"
of the targeted food items that we need daily.
Special thanks to the following for their donations:
The Department of Motor Vehicles, South Sacramento, led by Kendra
Baker : 145 pounds of peanut butter, tuna, soups, fruits &
vegetables
The Carolyn Dudly Foundation, led by Kay Sain: 796 pounds of
peanut butter, jelly, tuna, soups, fruits, macaroni & cheese
and bread.
(Although not new) St. Clement's Church, Rancho Cordova, came
through with a very timely and large donation delivered by Bill
Murray: 232 pounds of peanut butter, ramen, soups, fruits, macaroni
& cheese, tuna, etc.
These wonderful donations allow us to stay within our budget
and we are very grateful!
During the month of October, we served:
· 1908 Clients
· 1092 adults
· 712 children
· 905 households (190 new: 28%)
· We provided 16 nights of shelter and assisted 2 families
with rent.
Please remember that we continue to need all of the above!
