Emergency Food and Shelter Assistance Programs
February 2005
In our continuing efforts to improve service to our clients,
RCCS volunteers are beginning the new year by providing important
information and directions that could provide help for families.
- Food Stamp availability: Through our partnership with the
Sacramento Hunger Commission, we have a volunteer/intern who comes
to us twice a week to interview clients who may be eligible for
food stamps. Her interview can sometimes speed up the process
so that eligible families receive food relief more quickly.
- Earned Income Tax Credit: In December, RCCS volunteers
learned about EITC and the benefits for low-income working families.
Brochures and tax preparation center locations are now available
and given to clients who may not know about this benefit.
During the month of February, we served:
- 1,669 Clients
- 1,087 Adults
- 582 Children
- 835 Households (20% are new to RCCS)
Our continuing Wish List includes:
- Peanut Butter (16 oz)
- Pork &
- Beans (16 oz)
- Soups (16 0z)
- Tuna (6 oz)
