FACT SHEET
Emergency Food and Shelter Assistance Program
January 2005
2005 began with cold, wet weather, which often effects the number
of people who might brave the elements and come to us for food.
In spite of the weather, our numbers have remained steady. Once
again, we are seeing many children, which means that we are serving
many families.
Thank you for your support through 2004 and know that River City
Community Services does make a difference in the lives of the
people we serve.
During the month of January, we served:
· 1,983 clients
· 1,268 adults
· 715 children
· 974 households
· 221 households, or 24%, had never been to RCCS before.
Traditionally, not as many organizations and churches hold food
drives after the holidays. RCCS is able to stay within budget
and feed all who are in need because of the donations and food
drives. Please remember that we still need the basics:
Peanut Butter (16 oz)
Pork & Beans (16 oz)
Soups (12 oz)
Tuna (6oz)
Your dollar donation can provide the following:
· $400 provides 32 families of 4 with 9 meals
· $200 provides 16 families of 4 with 9 meals
· $100 provides 8 families of 4 with 9 meals
· $ 50 provides 4 families of 4 with 9 meals
