Emergency Food and Shelter Programs
May 2005

Many thanks to the churches and individuals who answered our call for food drives and extra collections to help River City Community Services fight hunger and help families in need through the summer. We are especially grateful to the following congregations and groups:

  • Trinity Cathedral
  • St. Michael's Episcopal Day School, Eighth Grade Class
  • St. George's, Carmichael
  • Westminster Presbyterian Church
  • Pioneer Congregational Church
  • St. Michael's EYC
  • St. Clement's, Rancho Cordova
  • St. Luke's, Galt

During the month of May, we served:

  • 1,706 adults
  • 619 children
  • 827 Households: 24% were new to RCCS

During the month of May, we provided emergency housing to the following:

  • 52 nights for 20 people (motel vouchers)
  • 3 families of 4 (12 people) received rental assistance
