Emergency Food and Shelter Programs
May 2006
As we begin the summer months, River City Community Services
is pleased to be able to provide a little extra for our clients.
Through Senior Gleaners and Food Link, we are getting more fresh
fruits and vegetables. Sometimes, friends and neighbors gift us
with the bounty from their trees and gardens. Our clients are
very appreciative.
Through the Sacramento Bee's "Share a Story," we are
providing children with age appropriate books for summer reading.
What could be better than a slow summer day, fresh strawberries
and a good book?!
Thank you for all you do to help those in need.
During the month of May, we served:
· 1,840 Clients
· 1,259 Adults
· 581 Children 1 family of 4 received rental assistance
· 923 Households enabling them to remain in their home.
Total Pounds of Food Distributed: 21,097
Thank you for all you do to help feed the hungry in Sacramento
County!
