Emergency Food and Shelter Programs

Vacation Time? Not for
Hunger
Summer Vacation is almost upon us and our thoughts
turn to barbeques, family reunions, and get-aways. It is not a
natural time to think about food drives and stocking shelves.
However, the summer months are very difficult for families living
at or under the poverty level. When schools close their doors
for the summer, children can not participate in thee School Breakfast
and Lunch Programs. Although a wonderful Free Lunch Program operates
in our county, it is more difficult for families to access it
and make sure their children receive a nutritious meal. When it
is difficult to put food on the table, we know more families will
turn to River City Community Services for help.
Help us stock our shelves in anticipation of increased
numbers of clients. Organize a food drive in your church, mosque,
synagogue, gym, or place of business. Make a monetary donation.
