Volunteer Position Description

Title: Member of Board of Directors, Marketing and Public Relations Specialist

Responsible to: President of the Board of Directors

Purpose: To conduct the business of the River City Community Services (RCCS), and to carry out the mission of the organization as prescribed in the bylaws and applicable laws of the State of California

Responsibilities:

1. The marketing and public relations Board Member will provide support in marketing and publicizing two major fundraisers, Tee Off for the Hungry Charity Golf Tournament and Empty Bowls Soup Luncheon.
2. Since RCCS serves low-income people throughout Sacramento County, the marketing and public relations Board Member should also provide expertise in publicizing the services provided by RCCS.
3. Appoint and remove employees and fix the compensation of any officers, agents, and employees.
4. Serve on a designated Board Committee.
5. Meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.

Time required: Term of office is two years, beginning with the date of election at the annual meeting (June) or mid-year (January). Minimum time commitment per month is 1.5 hours, with additional time commitment as required for committee assignments and special projects.
