Volunteer Position Description

Responsible to: Program Manager

Purpose: To pick up donated bread from The Bread Store or day old bakery goods from other bakery.

Responsibilities:

1. Check on availability of bread through Program Manager.
2. Using the volunteer's own vehicle, pick up bread from The Bread Store on J Street. Parking is available on the west side of the bakery.
3. On direction of Program Manager, pick up bread from other bakeries as required.
4. Pick up pastries at any of multiple Starbucks locations, on direction of Program Manager.
5. Return the bread to RCCS stock room, parking in the alley behind the food closet.

Time required: Ongoing position, Wednesday at 6:00 pm only. (The Bread Store only allows us to pick up bread at closing time, 6:00 pm). Requires about 1 hour per week. Arrangements to deliver bread to RCCS may vary. Volunteer must have car, truck, SUV, or van.
