| Volunteer Opportunities
Started in 1968, River City Community Services (RCCS) is one
of the area's oldest and most efficient community service organizations,
providing food relief to over 24,000 people in nearly 12,000 households
in Sacramento County, one-third of them children. RCCS is the
only Sacramento food outreach program that provides nutritional
counseling in addition to food supplies, and is unusual for its
provision of frozen meat or protein.
Volunteers are essential to the operation of this food closet,
